Jon's been with Russellers since 2003 when his son joined the club at the age of 7. Like most youth football coaches/managers he got involved as the then manager needed help on match days and especially with training. One year after he joined he became team manager. Since then he has completed his level one course and is also fixture secretary for all of the junior 11 a side teams
Would moving kids' football to a summer game help improve the development of young footballers?
Yes - better pitches mean a better chance to develop technique/skills
No - wouldn't make any real difference to development
Maybe - but I'd be worried about more injuries on firm pitches
